.: Almost Famous, But Not Yet :.

I feel like I'm living in my own little version of "Almost Famous". If all goes as expected, my essay on Deborah Harry will be appearing in a new book about Blondie. And I may get the chance to contribute to another book about rock chicks, a subject which I totally love.

And today I got the most beautiful tiara in the mail...I wore it in the dollar general store parking lot. The things we do for fun in Hooterville, I'm tellin ya...

I'm making a tape for my cousin, who is an American student in Japan working on her PhD. Just catching her up on some of our mutual TV habits. This weekend a new season of "Making The Band" debuts on MTV and I'll be taping it for her. Boyband fever! Have any of you other boyband fanatics been to groupiecentral.com? Some of their info about NKOTB, BSB, NSync, and others is downright...disturbing. But also sort of fascinating. I felt very smug and "in the know" after reading it. And from what I saw in my days of being an NKOTB groupie, everything about said band was pretty much true. Read at your own risk.

I'm going to Texas on Wednesday with the parents to get the car worked on and to have lunch with my grandfather as well as do some minor shopping. I need some new yarn. Just thought I'd let you all know. My VCR will be set for the new Dawson. Gotta have my dose of Beak on the Creek.

Finally, when did the Camden kids and their friends (7th Heaven, ya know) all become such pervs? Jessica Biel topless in "Gear", Barry Watson in "Playgirl" and Wilson the Wanker in some softcore porno about teenage satanist vampires...what's next, Ruthie starring in "Basic Instinct II"?

I didn't see the Barry Watson issue, btw...did any of you? Let me know.

And with that, I'll sign off to the sounds of Robbie William's "Rock DJ".

Goodnight!!
